Trapped between a wall of deep water and a ruthless army, three million people waited for death. Behind them, the desert horizon shook with the thunder of Pharaoh’s iron chariots. With nowhere left to run, terror gripped the crowd. But Moses stood firm. He stepped to the water's edge and raised his weathered wooden staff to the sky. Suddenly, a violent east wind tore through the night, whipping the waves into a frenzy. The sea began to tear apart, splitting right down the middle with a deafening roar. Towering walls of water rose on their left and right, frozen like massive cliffs of glass. Between the watery depths, a path of dry, dusty ground appeared where the seabed once lay. Trembling families stepped forward into the abyss, walking beneath the weight of the suspended ocean. But as the last Israelite entered the path, the Egyptian army charged into the dark canyon.
