Full transcript of Biological Superpowers
You think human biology is impressive? There are animals walking this earth with literal superpowers. Take the octopus. It doesn't have one heart—it has three. Two pump blood to the gills, while the third powers the rest of its body. Sloths move so slowly that their fur becomes a living garden. Algae grows directly on their bodies, acting as a natural, living camouflage. Frogs never drink a drop of water. Instead, they absorb every ounce of hydration directly through their skin, like a breathing sponge. A giraffe’s tongue stretches twenty inches long. And it’s dark purple, a built-in biological sunblock to prevent severe sunburns while grazing. Despite their massive strength, elephants carry a unique anatomical flaw: they are the only mammals on earth entirely physically incapable of jumping. But the ultimate superpower belongs to the Turritopsis dohrnii jellyfish. When injured, it hits a biological reset button, reverting to a baby state. It’s biologically immortal. Nature already cured aging. We just have to figure out how.
