There was a man in Jericho everyone despised. His name was Zacchaeus — a chief tax collector, rich from taking more than he should. Word spread through the city — Jesus of Nazareth was passing through. Zacchaeus desperately wanted to see him. But the crowd was too thick — and he was too short. So he ran ahead — and climbed a sycamore tree. Perched in the branches, he finally had a clear view. Then Jesus stopped. Right beneath that very tree. He looked up — and called Zacchaeus by name. "Zacchaeus — come down quickly. I must stay at your house today." The crowd erupted. "He's going to a sinner's house?" But Zacchaeus came down — filled with joy. He stood before Jesus and declared: "Half of everything I own — I give to the poor." "And if I've cheated anyone — I'll repay them four times over." Jesus smiled. "Today — salvation has come to this house." The Son of Man came to seek and save the lost. No one is too small. No one is too forgotten. No one is too far — for love to find them.
