We spend our entire lives running from the inevitable dark. But when the final hour actually arrives, the air goes perfectly still. An elderly man lies peacefully in his bed, watching the moonlight pool on the floor. The visitor enters without a sound, slipping through the quiet cracks of midnight. A towering figure cloaked in endless shadow stands beside him. Yet, there is no terror in the old man's eyes. Only the soft, calm sigh of a very long journey finally ending. His trembling hand slowly drifts toward the wooden nightstand. His fingers gently touch a faded, weathered photograph. A picture of his smiling wife, laughing children, and a loyal dog. He looks up at his silent, dark-robed guide. And whispers the only question that truly matters at the end. 'Did I love them well enough?' The Grim Reaper remains completely silent, face hidden in the deep hood. Then, slowly, the entity extends a gentle, open hand. There is no malice here. Only a quiet, solemn invitation. The old man smiles, his fear completely dissolving into peace. As their hands meet, a brilliant, warm light begins to glow. The dark walls of the bedroom slowly fade away. Two silhouettes step together into an endless, golden mist. Leaving the heavy weight of the physical world behind. Leaving only a quiet, empty room, bathed in the soft morning sun.
