Have you ever waited for someone who never came? For a message that remains unwritten, or a knock that never echoes through the hall? The hours stretch out, measured only by the steady drum of rain. A quiet apartment becomes a sanctuary of silence. A ceramic cup of chamomile tea slowly loses its warmth. Just like the hope you carefully poured into the evening. You check the glowing screen. Once. Twice. A hundred times. Nothing but the cold, digital stare of an empty inbox. Every creak of the floorboards makes you glance toward the door. Trembling hands trace the edges of a leather journal, capturing thoughts that have nowhere to go. You take lonely walks under a black umbrella, wandering through empty, wet streets. Searching for a ghost in the reflections of streetlamps. And the cycle repeats. Every night, I believed tomorrow would be different. Tomorrow they'd call. Tomorrow they'd choose me. Tomorrow I'd finally matter. But as the candle burns down to the wick... I didn't realize that while I was waiting for someone else to begin my story... ...my own life had quietly been waiting for me. The realization hits as the first light of dawn begins to fracture the dark. You place the phone face down. You stop looking back, and finally look out the window. Tomorrow... she waits one more time. But this time, she waits only for herself.
