Every night at exactly 3:03 a.m., twelve-year-old Lily woke to the same sound. Tap… tap… tap. It echoed from the darkest corner of her bedroom. She thought it was a tree branch scratching the glass. But there was no tree outside. Then, one morning, tiny muddy footprints appeared on her floor. They led from the corner of her room, stopping right at her bed. Her parents blamed her imagination. That night, Lily hid under her blanket and watched the corner. At 3:03 a.m., the room turned ice cold. Three dark shapes slowly emerged from the shadows. Their faces were completely empty, like burned-out photographs. Lily couldn’t move. One raised a long finger, pointing directly at her. All three whispered at once: “Come with us.” The bedroom door slammed shut. The figures drifted closer. Lily squeezed her eyes shut and screamed. Suddenly, silence. She opened her eyes to morning sunlight. Relieved, she climbed out of bed, but froze. Written in muddy handprints across her wall were six words: "Tonight, we take you home." That evening, Lily’s parents found her room empty. The window was locked. The door was still closed. The only thing remaining were three sets of muddy footprints... Leading directly into the corner, with none coming back out.
