Pippin the Penguin, small and neat, Has happy little waddle feet. He wears a scarf of red and white, It keeps him warm all day and night. He looks up at the snowy hill, And cannot keep his body still. He wants to slide and play a game, And call his little friends by name. Slide, slide, in the winter sun! Playing outside is so much fun! Down the snowy hill we go, Shouting whee across the snow! Here comes Slippy, the happy seal, He gives a little happy squeal. He flops his flippers on the ground, And makes a funny splashing sound. “Hello, Pippin! Hello to you!” The sky is such a lovely blue. Let’s slide together, you and me, As happy as we can be. Then Fuzzy Bear comes out to play, On this delightful, snowy day. His fur is fluffy, soft, and white, He is a very happy sight. He waves a friendly, fuzzy paw, The best friend you have ever saw. He loves to roll upon his back, And play beside the sliding track. Slide, slide, in the winter sun! Playing outside is so much fun! Down the snowy hill we go, Shouting whee across the snow! Let’s build a fort! says little Pip. With a happy, smiling lip. They push the snow into a pile, And work together for a while. They build the walls up straight and tall, So they can play and have a ball. Their snowy fort is strong and grand, The best one in the chilly land. They make some little balls of snow, And toss them gently, to and fro. The snowballs fly up in the air, From Slippy Seal and Fuzzy Bear. They giggle when the snowballs land, Upon a flipper or a hand. A happy game for everyone, Beneath the chilly winter sun. Slide, slide, in the winter sun! Playing outside is so much fun! Down the snowy hill we go, Shouting whee across the snow! The sun begins to go to sleep, The shadows on the snow are deep. The sky is pink and orange now, The wind blows softly on the bough. The first star starts to twinkle bright, A pretty, sparkly, silver light. The moon comes out, a happy grin, It’s time for fun to finish in. So wave goodbye, my happy friends, Our lovely, snowy fun day ends. Pippin waddles to his home, Beneath the starry, quiet dome. He snuggles in his cozy bed, A sleepy, happy penguin head. Goodnight, Pippin, sleep so tight, Until the sunny morning light.
