Your smart lock just sent a notification to your phone: Front door unlocked. You swipe it away, thinking it's a glitch, and manually tap 'lock'. Five seconds later, your screen lights up again: Front door unlocked. The dark apartment is dead silent, except for the hum of the fridge. You pull up the live security camera feed of your porch. The porch is completely empty. Nothing but cold night air. You force-lock it, watching the deadbolt slide shut on the camera feed. Then, you hear it. A heavy, physical click from down the hallway. Your phone buzzes a third time: Front door unlocked. That's when you realize the terrifying truth. Nobody is trying to break in from the outside. They are already inside, unlocking the door so they can escape. And the slow footsteps are heading straight toward your bedroom.
