(laughs proudly) NARRATOR: And King Darius had helpers — lots and lots of helpers. But there was ONE helper who was extra special. Can you guess his name? 👐 KIDS ACTION: Shout it out — what's his name? Say: DANIEL! 👏 NARRATOR: That's RIGHT! DANIEL! Daniel was kind, and wise, and he worked very, very hard. And do you know what Daniel's most favourite thing in the whole world was? [Pause — let kids think] NARRATOR: He LOVED to pray! Every single day — morning, noon, and night — Daniel would get down on his knees, open his window, and talk to God! [Show Daniel kneeling by window, warm yellow light streaming in, peaceful smile] 🔊 SFX: Soft, gentle worship music — 3 seconds 👐 KIDS ACTION: Can you kneel down like Daniel? Let's pray together! Fold your hands — good job! 🙏 NARRATOR: Daniel prayed three times EVERY day. And that was his special secret. Do you want to learn our catchphrase? Some of the other helpers were JEALOUS. They didn't like that King Darius trusted Daniel so much. So... they made a very sneaky plan. 👐 KIDS ACTION: Oh no! Let's make our sneaky face! Rub your hands together — mwahahaha! 😈 BAD MAN 1: (whispering) We need to get Daniel in trouble. But how? BAD MAN 2: (whispering) I've got it! Let's watch him. What does Daniel do every single day? BAD MAN 1: (grinning) He prays! THREE times a day! BAD MAN 2: Exactly! Let's make a LAW — that no one can pray to anyone except the king! Then Daniel will BREAK the law! NARRATOR: Ohhh — that was a VERY sneaky plan! And they went to King Darius right away. BAD MAN 1: (bowing) Oh great King Darius! We think you should make a new law — that for 30 days, no one can pray to ANYONE except YOU! KING DARIUS: (stroking chin) Hmm... a law just for me? I like the sound of that! Very well — make it a law! NARRATOR: And just like that — the law was made. No praying to God for 30 whole days. Only praying to the king! Now — what do you think Daniel did when he heard this news? [Pause — let kids answer] NARRATOR: Did Daniel... STOP praying? Did he hide? Did he say, 'Oh well, I'll just skip my prayers today'? 👐 KIDS ACTION: Shake your head — NO WAY! 🙅 NARRATOR: That's right — NO WAY! Because Daniel knew something very important. He knew that GOD was MORE important than any law made by people! 🔊 SFX: Bold, triumphant music sting — 2 seconds NARRATOR: So Daniel went home — walked up to his window — got down on his knees — and he PRAYED! Do you know what time it was? NARRATOR: Daniel prayed! KIDS RESPOND: THREE TIMES A DAY! ✋ ⬛ SCENE 4 — CAUGHT! (2:45–3:45) [Sneaky men peering through Daniel's window — shocked faces] 🔊 SFX: Dramatic 'uh-oh' music NARRATOR: The sneaky men were watching. And when they saw Daniel praying — they RUSHED to the king! BAD MAN 1: (dramatically) KING! KING! Daniel has broken your new law! He is praying to his God — three times a day! NARRATOR: When King Darius heard this — his face fell. He liked Daniel. He didn't WANT Daniel to be punished. He tried all day to find a way to save him. [Show sad king — head in hands] KING DARIUS: (sadly) I'm sorry, Daniel. The law cannot be changed. Not even by the king. NARRATOR: The law said anyone who broke it must be... thrown into the DEN OF LIONS! 🔊 SFX: BOOM — lion roar — dramatic music drop 👐 KIDS ACTION: Let's roar like the scary lions! Big ROAR! 🦁 ROOOOAR! NARRATOR: The guards came for Daniel. They brought him to the big stone cave. Daniel wasn't crying. He wasn't running away. He was... calm. Because Daniel knew — [Gentle pause] NARRATOR: — that God was with him. 🔊 SFX: Soft, peaceful music sting KING DARIUS: (trembling) May your God — the one you always pray to — rescue you, Daniel. NARRATOR: And Daniel was thrown into the den. A BIG stone was rolled over the opening. Everything went... dark. 🔊 SFX: Stone rolling — thud — silence [Screen goes dark. Just the sound of breathing and growling lions in the distance.] ⭐ VIRAL MOMENT: This is the CLIFFHANGER. And even in the darkest lion den — God's love was brighter than any darkness! He hadn't slept all night. He'd been too worried about Daniel! [Show king running — crown slightly lopsided — sandals flapping — funny] 🔊 SFX: Cartoon running sound effect — kids will laugh KING DARIUS: (shouting at the stone) DANIEL! DANIEL! Are you there?? Did your God save you?? [Long pause — silence — the king trembles] NARRATOR: The whole world went quiet.
