Many years ago, there lived a woman named Maria who loved her two children dearly. She spent her days caring for them and believed her family would always stay together. One day, Maria's husband left her for another woman. Heartbroken and overwhelmed by grief, she wandered to a river with her children. In a moment of despair, she made a terrible choice that she immediately regretted. Realizing what she had done, Maria cried out in sorrow and searched desperately for her children along the riverbank. According to legend, Maria's spirit never found peace. People began to tell stories of a ghostly woman dressed in white who wanders near rivers and lakes at night, weeping and calling, "My children! Where are my children?" To this day, many know her as La Llorona, the Weeping Woman. Her mournful cries are said to drift through the darkness, serving as a haunting reminder of love, loss, and regret.
