Five little stars are in the sky, The sun went down, now night is nigh. The sky is dark, a lovely blue, It's bedtime now for me and you. Let's count the stars up in the air, They shine so bright without a care. But now it's late, the day is done, Let's say goodnight to every one. Five little stars way up so high, Goodnight, goodnight, sweet lullaby. The moon is watching from the sky, And sings a song for you and I. The first small star lets out a yawn, He's sleepy now until the dawn. He finds a cloud so soft and deep, And curls right up to fall asleep. The cloud is like a fluffy bed, For his small, sleepy, starry head. He closes his small sparkly eyes, Beneath the dark and quiet skies. The second star begins to fade, A sleepy game is being played. His twinkle light goes soft and slow, He's ready for his light to go. A gentle blink, a softer gleam, He dreams a happy little dream. His shining light is getting dim, Sleepy time is here for him. Five little stars way up so high, Goodnight, goodnight, sweet lullaby. The moon is watching from the sky, And sings a song for you and I. The third and fourth stars sing a tune, A quiet song up to the moon. They whisper soft, a sleepy sound, As bedtime comes for all around. "Goodnight dear moon," they softly say, "You watched us through our starry play." Their voices are a gentle hum, The time for sleeping now has come. The fifth small star, the very last, His happy day has gone so fast. He gives the sky a final wink, It's time to sleep now, he does think. One last small twinkle, bright and clear, To say goodnight to all who's near. His little light now starts to fade, A sleepy star is sweetly made. Five little stars way up so high, Goodnight, goodnight, sweet lullaby. The moon is watching from the sky, And sings a song for you and I. One, two, three, four, five stars bright, Are tucked in for the sleepy night. Their shiny points are soft and low, They feel the gentle moonbeams glow. The sky is quiet, calm, and deep, All the little stars are now asleep. No more twinkling, no more light, Just sweet dreams all through the night. The moon looks down with a soft smile, And watches for a little while. He pulls a cloud up to their chin, And gently tucks the stars all in. The world is quiet, safe and sound, Goodnight to all the stars around. We'll see you when the sun's away, Let's sleep until a brand new day.
