One small village surrounded by misty green mountains, live a boy name Wei Liang. He loves walking near his home, listening to the wind rustle through the leaves. One rainy afternoon, Wei Liang heard a strange whimpering sound near the old stone bridge. Curious, he pushed through eyes were wide with fear. "Don't worry, little one," Wei Liang said gently. "I'll help you." He carefully untangled the the frightened against Wei Liang's hand and let out a happy little chirp. Wei Liang named him Yun, which means "cloud," because the dragon loved drifting lazily through the sky like a wisp of mist. From that day on they were inseparable, One day a huge storm came, Wei Liang rides Yun on his back, as they soared Liang directed the villagers to safety, guiding them to higher ground. By morning, the storm had passed. The village was safe, and the people who had once been wary of the dragon now cheered for Yun, tossing flowers and lanterns into the sky in his honor. Wei Liang hugged Yun's scaly neck and smiled. "You see, Yun? When we help others, even the scariest storms can't stop us." From that day forward, the village celebrated a new festival every spring — the Festival of the Cloud Dragon — to remember the boy and the dragon who taught them that true friendship, kindness, and courage seem different from us.
