FacelessGenie review: what it does, what it costs and who it's for
We make FacelessGenie, so this review comes from the team behind it. To keep it useful, it sticks to things you can check yourself: the plans on our pricing page, the free plan limits, videos our users chose to share, and the limits we would want to know before paying.
What FacelessGenie is
FacelessGenie is an AI video maker for faceless videos. You pick a format, such as a story Short, a long YouTube explainer, a podcast or gameplay narration, and type your idea. It writes the script, records the voiceover, makes the scenes, adds captions and music, and hands you an MP4.
Videos run from vertical 9:16 Shorts to 16:9 videos up to 20 minutes on paid plans. You can choose the models doing the work, such as Seedance 2.5 or Wan 3.0 for video clips and Nano Banana Pro or GPT Image 2 for images, and you see the credit cost before you create the video.
Who it's for, and who should skip it
A good fit if you
- Run, or want to start, a faceless YouTube, TikTok or Instagram channel
- Want Shorts and long videos from the same tool
- Would rather direct the idea than edit a timeline
- Want to know what each video costs before you make it
Probably not for you if you
- Mostly edit your own camera footage, where a timeline editor such as CapCut or Premiere fits better
- Need a realistic avatar presenter on screen
- Need a single video longer than 20 minutes
FacelessGenie pricing
These are the plans on our pricing page, in US dollars. Every paid plan includes every format and a monthly credit allowance. What a video costs in credits depends on its length and the models you pick, and you see it before you create the video.
| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | One video a day, up to 90 seconds at 720p, with a FacelessGenie watermark |
| Basic | $49/mo ($41/mo billed yearly) | 7,000 credits a month, 1080p, no watermark, videos up to 10 min |
| Starter | $97/mo ($81/mo billed yearly) | 20,000 credits a month, 1080p, no watermark, videos up to 20 min |
| Growth | $147/mo ($123/mo billed yearly) | 35,000 credits a month, 1080p, no watermark, videos up to 20 min, API access |
| Pro | $197/mo ($164/mo billed yearly) | 70,000 credits a month, 1080p, no watermark, videos up to 20 min, API access |
Credits are spent per video, so how many videos a plan covers depends on the format and models. If a render fails, the credits come back automatically.
Is FacelessGenie free?
Yes. There is a free plan and no card is needed. It makes one video a day, up to 90 seconds long at 720p, with a small FacelessGenie watermark.
The free YouTube clip maker also turns one video a day, up to 10 minutes long, into captioned vertical clips. Paid plans remove the watermark, export 1080p, allow longer videos and add the premium models.
Pros
- Makes the whole video: script, voice, scenes, captions and music in one run
- Shorts and long YouTube videos up to 20 minutes in one tool
- You see the credit cost before you create a video, and failed renders give the credits back
- You can fix one scene, voice or music track without redoing the whole video
- You choose the AI models, from low-cost defaults to premium video models
- A real free plan, plus free tools for scripts, titles, tags and clips
Cons and honest limits
- Free videos carry a watermark, stop at 90 seconds and export at 720p
- Paid plans start at $49 a month, more than some single-purpose tools
- Credits take a moment to learn, and premium models use them faster
- AI scenes still miss sometimes, so plan to review each video and regenerate a scene or two
- Editing happens scene by scene, not frame by frame like a timeline editor
- Subscriptions and used credits are not refundable, so test on the free plan first
- API access starts on the Growth plan
