What is image-to-video?
Image-to-video (I2V) is an AI technique that animates a still image into a video clip. Because you approve the image first, you control exactly how each scene looks before it moves — which makes it the standard way to keep a consistent style and characters across a multi-scene video.
The two-step flow — generate a still, then animate it — separates "what does this scene look like" from "how does it move". That separation is what makes it possible for a six-scene video to feel like one film instead of six unrelated clips.
It's also how recurring characters work: the same reference image drives every scene the character appears in, keeping the face, outfit, and world stable across an entire series.
