Veo 3 and Veo 3.1, explained

Veo 3 is Google DeepMind's video model, and Veo 3.1 is its current version. It makes short clips of up to 8 seconds with dialogue, sound effects and ambience generated together with the picture. As of November 2026 you reach it through Google Flow, Google's paid AI plans and its developer platforms, while the Gemini app now uses Google's newer Gemini Omni model for video. FacelessGenie doesn't include Veo, so below you'll find how to get it and how to make the same kind of video with Seedance or Genie Motion.

How to get Veo 3.1 in November 2026

Google moved video in the Gemini app to its newer Gemini Omni model in 2026, so the Gemini app is no longer the main place for Veo. Veo 3.1 is available in Google Flow, Google's filmmaking tool, through paid Google AI plans, and to developers through Google's cloud and API platforms, which bill per second of video. Google changes these plans often, so check its plan page before you subscribe.

Is Veo 3 free?

Not in a way you can build a channel on. As of November 2026 there is no standing free Veo 3.1 tier. Google has offered limited trial generations in some of its apps, and free output, where it exists, is watermarked. Regular use goes through a paid Google AI plan, with the Pro plan listed at $19.99 a month, or through pay-per-second developer pricing.

Strengths and weak spots for faceless shorts

Veo's best trick is sound. Dialogue, footsteps and room tone come out with the picture, and physics and lighting look real. The limits for a faceless channel are the short clip length, the price per second and the fact that you still have to write, assemble and caption the video yourself. It suits the single hero shot more than a 60-second short with twelve scenes.

Does FacelessGenie offer Veo?

No. Veo isn't one of the video models you can pick when you make a video in FacelessGenie. For clips with dialogue and sound, FacelessGenie offers Seedance 2.5, Seedance 2.0, Genie Motion and Wan 3.0, and builds them into a finished video with a script, captions and music.
